1) The GG trail has much better views of the actual mountain, with more time in the woods and a similarly beautiful -- if not better -- basin; 2) the GG trail had 5-10x fewer people than the AB trail; 3) the AB trailhead is further from Lake City with an even nastier road; and 4) GG trailhead has bathrooms but the AB trailhead does not.
